Alfreton Golf Club Seniors Section

Matches, home and away, are played against local clubs from April to September. The results are nearly as important as enjoying the company! All who wish to play will do so.

Two week-day competitive “fiddles” are played throughout the year on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All are made very welcome.

There are numerous senior’s trophies to be played for throughout the year, most of which qualify for handicap purposes and carry prizes. The final trophy is the Rider Cup, spelling deliberate, played over 3 days between Notts & Derby.

The section organises three open competitions each year including a Christmas Comp shotgun start in December with a festive meal afterwards.

Throughout spring and summer teams are sent to seniors open competitions throughout Derbyshire, Notts, South Yorkshire, Leicestershire and Staffs. A prize is not uncommon!

Two golf holidays a year are planned, usually to UK in spring and somewhere warmer in Autumn.
