Wednesday Fiddle Away Day at Norwood Park

Past Captain Billy Morrison organised an away day at Norwood Park golf club today, (30th September) for our Wednesday fiddle group. This annual event returned to Norwood after a couple of years at Rufford and Oakmere and we play for the Alan Bleasdale Trophy.

A warm welcome saw us consume the ‘traditional’ bacon cob on arrival and steak pie after the game. Even the wet weather promised was sent on its way early in the day to leave us playing in autumn sunshine on dry fairways and tricky greens. Those conditions favoured the higher handicappers and the results were as follows:

Winner: Harry Bradford: 40pts
Runner Up: Ken Swift: 39pts
3rd place: Trevor Parrett: 38pts

Team prize went to: Gordon Swain, Alan Richmond, Alan Beastall and Harry Bradford with 89pts.

Nearest the pin winners were: Graham Lunn (5th) and Ian Briggs (12th).

Well done Billy, another great day out.
