Thank you to our Seniors Captain, Nigel Savage for organising his Captains Away today, 23^rd September.

It was held at Chilwell Manor Golf Club, where 20 of our senior group were treated to a very warm welcome, good food, service and an excellent course with fairways still dry and running. The greens were tricky with lots of subtle borrows which led to some players struggling to avoid those dreaded three putts!

There were two competitions to play for, a team ‘best two from four to count’ plus an individual stableford too. We dodged most of the showers that were around and after our steak pie dinner Nigel declared the results and awarded the prizes which went to the following:

Individual:

1st: Trevor Parrett – 41pts

2nd: Ross Poyner – 40pts

3rd: Keith Else – 38pts
4th: John Pollard – 37pts

Team:

1st: Nigel Savage, Dave Lowe, Trevor Parrett and Graham Shinfield – 93pts

2nd: Paul Eveson, Trevor Haslam, John Pollard and Gary Crompton – 86pts
3rd: Keith Else, Stan Munks, John Spencer, and Phil Smith – 85pts

Additionally, there was a nearest the pin winner for  the 9^th and 12^th par 3 holes. No one finished on the 9th green, but Phil Smith secured the prize on the 12th, well done Phil, 👏

Thank you to all who supported the event, it was a great day out.
