FIRST SENIORS  COMPETITION TAKES PLACE

With the course drying out nicely, and the ride on Buggy Ban lifted, 22 seniors competed in today’s rescheduled Texas Pairs competition.

The cold (4 degrees) heavy mist that prevailed at the start of the round burned off very quickly leading to clear skies and sunshine for the great majority of the round. With no wind there was welcome warmth in the sunshine, and most players had to shed layers as the temperature rose to over 15 degrees!

With two holes out of play due to their waterlogged condition the comp was played over 16 holes of the hybrid winter course. The format was stroke play, with handicap allowances of 15% of the combined playing handicaps of the pairs.

Habitual roll up winner Trevor Haslam continued his good form and, with able assistance from Brent Ridley, the pair romped home to a comfortable winning margin of 4.2 shots.

Congratulations to them, and hard luck to the rest of the chasing pack who can see their final positions in the table below.
