Originally scheduled for Tues 2^nd December our Senior’s Xmas Shotgun competition fell victim to the preceding weekend’s very rainy weather. With the Tuesday and Wednesday being dry the course dried out and the event was held on Thursday 4^th December, ironically in fairly persistent rain!

Despite the wet and cold conditions 14 pairs battled both the weather and each other in a betterball stableford format which had a 9am shotgun start. Once the golf was over players enjoyed a festive Xmas Cob with Roasties and Trimmings after which Senior’s Captain, Nigel Savage, presented prizes to the top 5 pairs, with a small consolation prize being awarded to the lowest scoring pair. A further prize was presented to Martin McCarthy for his nearest the pin in 2 shots on the 9^th/18^th hole.
