Alfreton Golf Club hosted their Mixed Texas Pairs Open on Tuesday 23^rd Sept and competitors were treated to an impeccably presented course bathed in some lovely autumn sunshine.

Aside from AGC members there were players from other Derbyshire courses competing, and even one pair that live in Dorset entered the fray!  All expressed their appreciation of the course and the warm welcome they received.

The spoils were shared between members and visitors in a very close contest, with less than 3 shots separating the top 6 pairs. And it was lady visitors who scooped up both the incidental prizes of nearest the pin and nearest the middle of the fairway drive.

Whilst Pete Gould and returning ex-member Debbie Mathews secured top spot (and Debbie won nearest the pin) It was the second place that proved to be a talking point as it was a real family affair!
