Congratulations to incoming Captain for 2025, John Lawrence, who started his season today with the traditional ‘Drive In’. He was accompanied by Junior Captain, Marcus Bunting who sent his drive some way past John! Well done to past President Dereck Martin who guessed the spot where John’s drive finished.

After the Drive In, the annual fourball match between the new Captain and the new President, Pete Gould took place for the honour of winning the Harold Gledhill Trophy. The teams were selected to pair up players who may not normally get to play with each other and 38 participants eventually were split between the two sides. A shotgun start saw the ten teams set off in mild and overcast conditions that unfortunately ended up in steady rain. This didn’t dampen the spirits and the players got together in the Clubhouse afterwards to find out the results.

At the end of the afternoon Captain John was pleased to announce that his team secured a 7-3 win over the President. Peter Gould presented him with the Trophy and Trevor Pearson won today’s spot prize for winning the nearest the pin on the 7^th hole.
