SENIORS CAPTAINS AWAY DAY AT NORWOOD PARK
Despite the grey misty start the weather was far kinder to us than the forecast had suggested for today’s Captain’s Away Day at Norwood.
Congratulations to the only 3 players (Dave Lowe, Martin McCarthy & Graham Shinfield) to beat their handicaps (and scoop the 3 individual prizes) and commiserations to Trevor Parrett who discovered playing to your handicap isn’t good enough to win a prize!
I’m just delighted that the top two individuals were in my Am-Am team and, ably supported by Alwyn, were able to carry me and still return the winning score of 89 points. As the attached detailed results show, Derick Hardman, John Spencer, Robin Green & Graham Shinfield were the team to scoop the second place prize with 84 points.
Nearest the pin on the 12th was won by Dave Lowe, who did make his 2 (one of his 3 birdies in his round!) That represented one third of the total birdies scored by the field, although the other 6 were all by different players.
So thanks for supporting Clive’s Away Day, hope you all enjoyed it (irrespective of your golfing performance!) and trust you will all support Nigel in his away day next year.
