Yesterday (Thursday 18th July) Alfreton Seniors hosted their latest friendly match against a team from Brierly Forest.

Many thanks to those who played, and especially to the few late substitutes who came forward to cover last minute withdrawals due to injury and illness on both sides.

The weather was great, the course was in superb condition, and the meal afterwards was excellent.

As always the six matches were fought out in a competitive but friendly nature with plenty of banter exchanged along the way. On this occasion home advantage featured heavily and Alfreton ran out 5-1 winners.

So a great result, but we can be absolutely certain that Brierly will, as they often have in the past, put their home advantage to maximum use in the return fixture on 24th September!!
