Alan Bleasdale Trophy - Wednesday Fiddle

The regular ‘Wednesday Fiddle’ have an annual away day to play for the Alan Bleasdale trophy. This year, past Captain Billy Morrison organised a trip to Rufford Park.

Yesterday the rain was so bad that the course had been closed, but today Billy’s magic touch provided perfect conditions with sunshine, reasonably dry fairways with receptive greens as well.

This lead to good scoring with many of the 19 players under par. 40 points were needed to be in the prizes with the results as follows:

1st: Gordon Kells – 43pts
2nd: Pete Labas – 42pts
3rd: Alan Bramley – 40pts (23 back 9)
4th: Trevor Parrett – 40 pts (19 back 9)

Nearest the pin winners: Pete Gould on 7th and Pete Labas on the 17th.

A good meal of traditional pie and chips finished off the day with prizes being presented to the winners by Vice Captain Graham Lunn. Thanks go to Billy for his organisation.
