Captains Charity Day - Round Up

The re-arranged Captains Charity Day took place on Saturday 19th August which also included the playing of the Crickmore Salvers.

A total of 54 entered the competition which was won on count-back by Charlie Burnham with 37 points, Christian Townsend came 2nd and Andy Buckley came 3rd with 36 points.

The leading lady was Debbie Matthews with 33 points.

Nearest-the-pin on the 7th was Darren Oldknow and Nearest-the-pin in two on the 18th was Charlie Burnham, just lipping out for his eagle!

The biggest winner on the day however were the Captains selected charities, a massive £720 being raised from the raffle and the golf entries. A massive thank you to all who supported the day and bought raffle tickets, brilliant, well done.

Our ladies, Anthea Thompson, Jane Strutt and Ellie Bennett, also raised £165 by previously arranging an afternoon tea.

The winner of the first two raffle prizes (a 4-ball at Coventry and a 4-ball at Stoke Rochford) was Steve Heenan, and given the number of tickets he bought you cannot fault his support for the charities and admire his determination to win some of the prizes! The third prize a 4-ball at Bakewell was won by Ian Cook.

Another noteable thing on the day; John Eley got a hole in one ‘over the pond’ on the 5th hole, well done to him and again many thanks for your support!
