We were pleased to hold our Ladies Open today, 2nd August, at Alfreton Golf Club. It was an AMAM stableford with teams of four from numerous clubs in attendance. It was a record attendance with 80 players on the course. Even the weather improved as the day went on, to finish in bright warm sunshine.

The top places were as follows:

1st place: 85 pts (best back 9)
Pam Burton, Pat Cannon, Joyce Hughes and Mary Ratcliffe – Westwood

2nd place: 85pts
Marion Leister, Lou Hollands – Alfreton, Samantha Sisson and Sue Powell – Erewash

3rd place: 84pts (with best back 3)
Olivia Dowling and Debbie Matthews – Alfreton, Sally Benn – Kedleston and Anne Peacock – Cavendish

4th place: 84pts
Denise Chapman – Alfreton, Sheila Parkin – Hollinwell, Sherry Newbold – Dore and Totley and Mandy Johnson – Abbeydale

5th Place: 82pts
Deidre Slack, Sue Atkinson, Yvonne Baines and Sylvia Oxspring – Bakewell
