3 Club Challenge 2021

Only allowed three clubs in your bag, and one MUST be a putter; that was the challenge last night (28th July).

Due to tee off at 5.00 over 10 holes, the weather closed in with thunder, lightning, heavy rain. A delay of 15 minutes and clearing skies to the west promised a chance of completing the competition. The brave souls who turned up set off in a shotgun start and hoped for the best……

Despite the odd delay for a hailstorm, requiring shelter under the trees, the competition was completed with two players returning scores under par.

In a closely fought contest, congratulations go to Morgan Toplis whose 22 points beat Charlie Burnham by just one shot. Captain, Billy Morrison coming in third with 19pts.

Morgan’s winning combination was a 5 iron, a wedge and his putter. The latter, holing some serious yardage of putts! Well done to all who made the effort to turn out.
