Seniors Mens Open - 2021 result

After a gap of 2 years, (washed out in 2019 and Covid in 2020), we were pleased to have held the annual Seniors Open today, 9th June. Played under blazing sun for most of the day, we welcomed 35 pairs of 55 year old and over competing off the silver pots for the prize.

Thanks goes to David Evans for his organisation, with the assistance of volunteers to sort out registration, the raffle and score collation. Well done too to Steve Slater and staff for the provision of food and drink before and after.

On a perfectly presented course, (thanks to Alex Roberts and his team); first prize went to Alfreton Members, Alwyn Brooks and Derrick Hardman with an impressive 48pts scored in the morning. They each win a custom made driver from our Pro Nev Hallam.

Second came Dereck Martin and Terry Taylor, playing in the afternoon, coming in with 45pts. Their prize being hampers made up by our Steward, Steve Slater.

Just out of the prizes, in third place on countback, were Steve Nutt and Kev Rawson with 43pts.

There was an additional prize for closest the pin in 2 on the 18th which went to visitor Simon Hudson who was around 24 inches from the hole. He wins a bottle of whisky.
