3 Club challenge competition

Why do we carry around 14 clubs in our bag when just three will do? Yesterday, (29th July), we held our annual 3 club challenge competition, and the winning score over 10 holes was an impressive 24 points.

The rules were any 2 clubs plus a putter. A range of options were tried by the group of mixed Members, most opting for a hybrid and a short iron.

Congratulations to the winner, Joe Dawes using a 4 hybrid and a pitching wedge, (24pts), beating runner up Pete Labas (22pts). In the ladies section, Bev Gould just pipped her regular playing partner Bev Housley on count back, both scoring 18pts. Her winning combination being a 5 wood and a 7 iron.

Afterwards Captain Billy Morrison presented the prizes to the winners outside on the Clubhouse patio in front of the socially distanced group of participants. Well done to all who participated in this fun format.
