Alfreton Junior cuts hair for charity

Eight year old Isabelle Turner, a Junior golfer at Alfreton Golf Club has raised nearly £1,000 for charity by cutting off most of her hair last month.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs for children and young people suffering with hair loss due to cancer treatment and other conditions. A year or so ago Izzy found out about the Trust and she decided to grow her hair long enough and to get sponsored to have some of it cut off and donate it to the charity.

In memory of her grandad Christopher, she had it cut off on what would have been his 60th birthday, he passed away in 2013 from cancer.

As well as providing wigs the Trust also funds research into less toxic treatments for paediatric cancers so Isabelle asked friends and family to sponsor her so she could donate that to the charity too.

Well done to Izzy, an example to us all!
